FRANKLIN, KY (SEPTEMBER 2, 2015) – Encore Racing Based Games (RBG) has signed on as the new presenting sponsor of the $300,000 Encore Juvenile Fillies at Kentucky Downs. The race will be contested on opening day – Saturday September 5 – at the Franklin, Ky all-turf Thoroughbred track.. First post time on Saturday is 1:35 p.m. (CDT) and the Encore Juvenile Fillies is scheduled to go off at 4:35 p.m. (CDT) as the seventh race on the 10 race live card.

The Encore line of pari-mutuel horse racing game terminals feature dozens of titles performing on a robust pari-mutuel system platform that utilizes authorized, previously conducted racing events to create a truly unique and compelling entertainment experience for the customer.
A full field of 12 will go postward in the Encore Juvenile Fillies, which is slated at seven furlongs on the turf. Headlining the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 is Simple Surprise, a daughter of Cowboy Cal owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds, LLC, trained by Steve Asmussen and ridden by Ricardo Santana. Simple Surprise comes in to the race undefeated in her first two career starts, most recently notching a one-length victory in the $100,000 Bolton Landing Stakes going 5 ½ furlongs on the turf on August 19 at Saratoga. Installed as the 7-2 second favorite on the morning line for the Encore Juvenile Fillies is Seaside Schiller, a daughter of Artie Schiller owned by Timber Bay Farm, trained and Michael Matz and ridden by Rafael Hernandez. This will be the second career start for Seaside Schiller, following her maiden special weight one-length victory on July 16 at Belmont Park.
Another filly to watch in the Encore Juvenile will be the Wesley Ward-trained Moment Is Right, a daughter of top sire Medaglia d’Oro. Joel Rosario gets the mount on the Ted Broeck Farm, Inc.-owned filly. Moment is right notched a 1 ½ length victory in Astoria Stakes at Belmont on June 4, and followed that up with a fourth place finish in the Grade III Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga on July 24. Kentucky Downs’ 2015 meeting includes five racing dates (Sept, 5, 10, 12, 16, 19) with record purses totaling $7.5 million. In addition to the $300,000 Kentucky Downs Encore Juvenile Fillies stakes race, the opening day live racing card also features the $300,000 Calumet Farm Juvenile and the $300,000 More Than Ready Mile, presented by WinStar Farm.
