Record $340,000 Historic Horse Racing Jackpot Drives Wyoming Handle To New Heights

Cheyenne, WY – The largest ever Historic Horse Racing jackpot was awarded to a patron last week in Mills, Wyoming. The $340,707.50 won on an Encore Triple Cherry Pop™ game broke the previous jackpot record of $114,000 set at Kentucky Downs.

“Everyone knows that customers love to play for large jackpots,” commented Encore President Jeremy Stein.

“The Encore system was designed to offer pari-mutuel pools that have the capacity to grow rapidly into life-changing amounts. As we have seen with our multiple six-figure jackpots at Kentucky Downs and now the all time record jackpot award in Wyoming, the potential to win large jackpots increases customer awareness and interest while driving wagering handle. The size of the jackpots also demonstrate that historic horse racing, when presented in an entertaining and technologically advanced manner, can be attractive to customers even in competitive wagering environments.”

The pursuit of the record jackpot drove wagering handle at the five Wyoming Horse Racing, LLC properties to almost $21 million in May. Combined HHR handle on 290 Encore terminals in Wyoming amounted to $20,972,367 last month, easily setting the Wyoming Horse Racing, LLC one-month handle record.

“Encore will continue to innovate with our HHR content creation,” concluded Stein. “Our development team is hard at work creating HHR game themes that will further maximize the customer experience with fun and exciting games that guarantee life-changing jackpot amounts.”
